With the Summer Wedding season looming, it’s time to kick off the trainers and display pretty feet. After all, it makes sense if you are investing in summer sandals for your wedding day and beyond (think honeymoon) it is paramount to start getting your feet in tip top condition with some much needed TLC.
Turn feet from neglected to sandal worthy by following our top tips to ensure your feet are looking their fabulous best.
Deal With Dry Skin
The skin on the base of the feet is much thicker than the rest of the body, If you suffer from dry hard skin, it will need more than a foot cream to tackle the issue. Invest in a sturdy foot file, and tackle hard skin when they are dry before you shower. After showering apply a nourishing foot balm to your feet or if you have cracked heels, choose a cream to target this concern. If the problem persists, a visit to a podiatrist would be recommended.
Exfoliate For Smoother Skin
Exfoliating is essential to get rid of dead dry skin and revive your feet. Don’t forget your feet whenever you are exfoliating your body. You can try making your own scrub by mixing coconut oil or olive oil with sugar to take off surface cells to reveal softer smoother skin.
Go Polish Free
If you have been wearing polish back-to-back, it is a good idea to take polish off and let them breathe for a little while to encourage healthy nail growth. Soften the cuticles, by applying a cuticle oil regularly to nourish and soften the skin before gently pushing the cuticles back.
Regular Foot Care At Home
The best time to cut toe nails is after a bath or shower when the nails have softened slightly. Using nail scissors cut the nails straight and gently filing into shape Avoid filing too far down the sides as this may encourage ingrowing toenails.
