Masseria Pistola, a magnificent 10-bedroom family home and estate in the heart of the beautiful Canale Di Pirro Valley in Puglia, Italy, is the perfect place for the ultimate Italian wedding.

The property is the brainchild of entrepreneur and owner Constant Tedder, who lovingly renovated the property with the help of James Thurstan Waterworth, ex-European Design Director for Soho House; Puglian-based English architect, Anthony Filmer; and local architect, Andrea Rodio.

In 2023, owner Constant Tedder held his own wedding at the property curating an incredible week-long celebration, with a variety of events held across various sections of the property including the beautiful Giardini Pistola. Tedder’s wedding is a primary example of how couples can maximise these exceptional venues to curate the ultimate Italian destination wedding

Constant’s main ceremony took place in the Giardini Pistola, which provides a further five hectares of glorious gardens. The gardens were designed by Chelsea designers Lulu Urquhart and Adam Hunt, who won a gold medal for ‘A Rewilding Britain Landscape’ at the Chelsea Flower Show 2022. With 120 guests, the sunset ceremony was attended by friends and family, all enjoying the Puglian sunshine. When the lights dimmed, guests took to the central courtyard to dance the night away, with food supplied by the Masseria staff.

When discussing his wedding at Masseria Pistola, Constant Tedder said: “Renovating Masseria Pistola was a labour of love, so it made sense to celebrate our love at the property. Puglia has always been a special place for my family and I, and it felt right to get married at Pistola – the Giardini is also the perfect setting, as it creates such a natural atmosphere. Pre-wedding stresses drifted away when entering the garden, and it allowed everyone from the guests to my wife and I to fully enjoy the experience.”

One of the many pre-wedding events took place at Masseria Pistola’s sister property Masseria Petrarolo, Constant’s first Puglian renovation. The central courtyard of the property was turned into a Moroccan-style berber event, with beautiful rugs and traditional music filling the courtyard. Another of the events took place in the amphitheatre in the Giardini Pistola, with aperitif cocktails enjoyed as the Puglian sun set.

Weddings at Masseria Pistola require a week stay, this allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the area before their big day. With 10 bedrooms, two pools and the stunning panorama of the Canale di Pirro Valley, guests can absorb the tranquil nature of Puglia and shed any wedding stress away. Those getting married at Pistola will have access to the property throughout the week and will be able to take advantage of the surrounding areas, whether it’s electric cycling around the beautiful property, visits to the local towns of Polignano a Mare and Monopoli, or lounging by the pool enjoying the delicious food created by the dedicated on-site chef.

Other guests of the wedding can also stay at the sister properties at the Petrarolo estate – including the nine-bedroom Masseria Petrarolo, the neighbouring Trullo Petrarolo offering a further two bedrooms and even Airstream Petrarolo – a converted Airstream with a bedroom and an outdoor kitchen, shower and pool.

Guests can enjoy a Puglian wedding like Constant’s with the property’s own wedding concierge team, who are on hand to organise a variety of weddings from smaller or intimate weddings of 20 people, to the larger ceremonies of 70+. Guests can choose to get married within the grounds of Pistola itself, set amongst the iconic trulli and beautiful rooms. Or, they can venture into the Giardini where guests can tie the knot amongst the lush greenery. With the concierge on hand to make the special day stress-free, the bride and groom can enjoy getting ready in the trulli of the property, while the team at Pistola takes care of everything else.

With 300 days of sunshine year round, Puglia is the perfect destination for a wedding in the shoulder seasons of spring and autumn, and Masseria Pistola is the perfect place to stay while hosting the most important day of people’s lives.
