One Third of UK Couples Use AI to Write Their Wedding Speech

With AI touching almost every walk of life, from artificial art to fake TV presenters, it’s even making its way down the aisle.

In a recent survey of newlyweds, one-third (32%) used AI to help plan their wedding, from designing invitations to writing wedding speeches.
Conducted by Add to Event, the UK’s leading event marketplace, the survey reveals the most popular ways couples are using AI when planning their wedding:

Checklist creation is the top use of AI, while budget tracking is the third most popular – highlighting how couples are turning to tech to keep their wedding plans organised.
Brides tend to lean on AI for organisation compared to grooms; they’re 37% more likely to use AI for creating checklists and 18% more likely to use it for budget tracking.
One bride from the survey, Alisha, shares how using AI to create a checklist helped organise her wedding, “We used it for our checklist and asked it from the most important to the least important things that we need to do for the wedding. The checklist had things I probably would have forgotten like the sign I used to let everyone know where they were sitting, and catering to different food requirements."
“Having a checklist made everything way easier since it gave me things I didn’t even think of. It’s always nice to have a plan if you’re a forgetful and unorganised person like myself!” shares Alisha.
Saying “I do” with AI
AI is also helping couples find the right words, with writing wedding speeches as the second most popular, alongside drafting invitations, RSVPs, or thank-you notes, while writing vows sits in fourth place. Again, brides are slightly more likely to use AI for writing speeches and vows.
Despite not being a big fan of AI, Alisha also reveals: “I don’t normally like to use AI since it doesn’t really emphasise your true feelings if that makes sense. However, I thought of using it because it helps me structure my true feelings. It helped me write what I wanted to say exactly how I wanted to say it with guidelines and my own tweaks here and there of course! I also have dyslexia so it truly helped me.”
