Top Tips for Weddings Abroad

You can’t bank on British summer time and you certainly can’t take your chances on the sunshine so it’s no wonder a lot of couples are opting to marry abroad

Here are some tips and things to consider before you make your final decision on your wedding destination:

Make sure you research the average temperatures for each month including rainfall. You don’t want it to be too hot as well as the rain.

Your guests

It’s going to cost your guests more to travel to your wedding in another country so make sure you give them plenty of notice. Send a save a date and brief description of your chosen destination at least 12 months before you jet-set. It will give them plenty of time to save, and make travel arrangements. You can then send a detailed invitation and travel pack nearer the time.

What about the legal side? Each country will have its own set of laws on wedding ceremonies and some require a lot of paperwork with a hefty fee, some you have to be a resident in the country for a certain amount of time and other countries you will only be able to have a blessing. So it’s extremely important that you do your research before you book anything.

Your wedding planner

Keep in contact with your wedding planner and print out emails or make a note of your wedding arrangements. Cut out magazine clippings of flowers, decorations, cake designs and also hair and make-up ideas. This will help when you meet your wedding planner for the first time to ensure that you are both on the same page.
