Real Life Wedding - Paul & Patrizia

It was love at first sight when Paul and Patrizia
were introduced by a mutual friend in 1999.

THE PROPOSAL:

Paul and Patrizia stayed at Patrizia’s parent’s villa in Finestrat, Spain, for a week. After a romantic meal at their favourite restaurant by the beach, they went for a walk, and Paul popped the question.

HE SAID:

It was perfect and it’s a place of many happy memories for Patrizia who used to go to Finestrat from a young age”.

SHE WORE:

Patrizia wore a Maggie Sottero dress called ‘Parisia’. The dress was a pearl-coloured strapless, full A-line satin gown with lace-up at the back. The bodice had a soft sweetheart neckline and beaded embroidery including Swarovski crystals and pearls. She wore pearl-coloured Rainbow Club peep-toe satin shoes and jewellery from the Lydia Collection. Patrizia had four bridesmaids: her two sisters and two friends. They wore fuchsia pink puffball dresses designed by Kelsey Rose and fuchsia high-heeled peep-toe shoes. The flower girl carried a small bag of rose petals with a pearl strap. She wore a pearl-coloured, long dress made from fine organza with three frills on the skirt. The dress had a thin band of pearls and crystals under the bust.

HE WORE:

Paul wore a navy blue three-piece Lincoln suit with an ivory satin cravat and pearl pin. He had an ivory satin handkerchief and brown shoes. There were three ushers, two pageboys and Paul’s brother was best man. They all wore navy blue Lincoln suits to match and ivory satin waistcoats and cravats.

THE CEREMONY:

Paul and Patrizia had a Catholic Church ceremony at St Paul’s church in Haywards Heath, where Patrizia’s parents and sister also married.

THE CELEBRATIONS:

The wedding reception was held at Wiston House in Steyning. This Elizabethan manor house is set in 500 acres of parkland.

PERSONAL TOUCHES:

The theme of fuchsia and ivory ran through the invitations, menus, seating plan, and bouquets. The couple decided to have four long trestle tables that stemmed from the top table. There were three tall, thin, clear vases with a huge sphere of Milano roses on top of each vase. In between were hurricane vases with a candle inside and a ring of Milano roses around the outside. The couple gave as favours five almonds in an ivory pouch and a candle in the shape of a sphere of ivory roses to match the bouquet and table decorations. Paul handed out party bags to the children and a cigar to every male guest.

THE HONEYMOON:

The couple went to Hong Kong for four days and then Bali for nine nights. They described it as “amazing and very memorable”.
