About Beacon, The

Imagine a bar and restaurant with a relaxed informality and the highest standards of cuisine. Add the backdrop of one of the best views in Southeast England and a genuinely friendly and helpful staff, then you have the formula for the fine reputation enjoyed by The Beacon near Tunbridge Wells.

The house dates from 1895 and was built as the country home of Sir Walter Harris, a former Lieutenant of the City of London. It has a wealth of architectural features including some particularly fine stained glass windows and an oak-panelled bar. Last year, we were finalists in the Publican Pub Food awards, and were awarded Certificate of Excellence in the category of Alfresco Dining Pub of the Year.

Our Verandah room that can seat up to 100 guests with superb views and overlooking the Beacons 17 acres of Garden, is the perfect setting for your wedding. We offer a wide range of menus from fresh ingredients which are sourced locally wherever possible, and all this served in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, but always with an eye to detail.
