How to Keep Your Bridesmaids Happy

One of the most exciting parts of your wedding is choosing your bridesmaids!

You will ask your siblings, close family and best friends to play a big role in your special day. However with emotions high and joint decisions to make, you may find yourself with a couple of Bridesmaidzilla’s on your hands.

Take a deep breath, be a cool Bride and remember these tips on how to keep your bridesmaids happy:

Tip one

Let your bridesmaids have some input. With different shapes and sizes, hair colours and complexions, you need to choose a colour that will flatter ALL of your bridesmaids, so let them have a say on their dress colour. Why don’t you give them your chosen colour swatches and let them try and pick out a couple of dresses they like. As the saying goes, many hands make light work.

Tip Two

Pick a hairstyle that is simple and that everyone is happy with. Make sure you have a few practice runs with all your bridesmaids together. This will avoid any last minute tantrums. If budgets allow, get a wedding hair stylist to do your bridesmaid’s hair on the day. It will take the pressure off them and keep everybody happy and stress free-you included.

Tip Three

If your bridesmaids don’t all know each other, arrange a couple of fun outings so that they can feel comfortable and be friends. It will also make it easier when they are planning your Hen Party.

Tip Four

Don’t let your bridesmaids compete for your attention. Quickly diffuse any tension. You don’t want any dramas ruining your big day.

Tip Five

Involve your bridesmaids. They are there to help so try not take on all the wedding chores and stress. But don’t rely on them to much. Remember that your bridesmaids have their own lives too.

Tip Six

It’s traditional for the bride to give her bridesmaids a gift. This can either be a piece of jewellery to wear on the wedding day; matching pendants make a special gift and they also make a great keepsake. Or a gift is given at the wedding breakfast. Spa vouchers are a good gift idea and it’s something that you can all do together once it’s all over.
